NEW UPDATE!!! (01/18/10)

Could it be??? A new Chaos Network update where I'm not bugging people to join the team or tell their friends to??? xD

Yes it is. This entire update is for the Ultima.EXE edition of Chaos Network. I won't be posting any updates for the BladeMan.EXE edition for a while. Probably not until demo 5 is released. My main focus is getting the Ultima.EXE edition up and running. All of the artwork in this update was made by ScarletReisen, who is doing an awesome job on the team!


I: Characters (People)

First off, allow me to reintroduce the new cast of main characters. Patch has new artwork!

Patch Hikari
Navi: Ultima.EXE
Description: Patch Hikari is the main character of Chaos Network: MegaMan Battle Network Online: Ultima.EXE Edition. He is the son of Lan Hikari (the head scientist at Mimic Town's Sci Lab) and Mayl Hikari. Patch's net navi is Ultima.EXE, an upgraded version of MegaMan.EXE passed down to him from his father. Ever since he received Ultima as a gift, they've made an unbreakable relationship, and an impressive team.

Name: Mia Stelar
Net Navi: Dusk.EXE
Info: Patch's best friend. Their relationship is very similar to Lan and Mayl's in the Battle Network series. She is constantly scolding Patch as if she is his mother for messing up in school, and being late for pretty much everything. Her net navi is Dusk.EXE.

Kyle Oyama
Net Navi: OilMan.EXE
Info: Kyle is the son of Chisao Oyama, and nephew of Dex/Dekao Oyama. Kyle is the calmest, and quietest of the bunch. His net navi's name is OilMan.EXE.

Carl ????
Net Navi: RhinoMan.EXE
Info: Carl is the bully of the group. He is constantly picking fights with people, and enjoys netbattling novice battlers for their zenny or chips. He is also always challenging Patch to a netbattle, and is so convinced that he is better than him. Patch and Carl's relationship is similar to Lan and Dex's on the Battle Network series.

Thomas Chaud
Net Navi: TechMan.EXE
Info: Thomas Chaud is the son of Eugene Chaud. Like his father, he tends to have a rather negative attitude towards most people. The most noticeable similarity between the two is that both seemed to have drawn a rivalry with the Hikari family. First Lan and Eugene, and now Patch and Thomas. Thomas's navi is TechMan.EXE.

II: Characters (Good Navis)


Name: Ultima.EXE
Net Operator: Patch Hikari
Info: Ultima.EXE is an upgraded version of Megaman.EXE, given to Patch by his father, Lan Hikari. Ultima's new and improved abilities allow him to reach levels of power even he is not aware of.

Info: Where to start...RhinoMan is what we like to call the net bully. He and is operator Kyle spend countless hours beating on defenseless navis for the fun of it, and to take their chips. He also enjoys fighting with Ultima.

Name: TechMan.EXE
Net Operator: Thomas Chaud
Info: TechMan.EXE is Thomas Chaud's net navi. He was originally built by Eugene Chaud to be a "second ProtoMan", but the experiment went completely berserk and he became too powerful. Eugene felt threatened by the navi and drained most of its power. Its was now useless to him, so he passed it down to his son. Not a very meaningful gift, eh? But Thomas didn't seem to have a problem with it. The two immediately got connected, and started training to become a net official.

Part IV: Virii


Name: Mettox
Info: The Mettox is the most common virus in Chaos Network, and the first one you will see when playing. It acts very similar to the Mettaur from the Battle Network series. The only difference is that it shoots arrows at you rather than using an axe like the Mettaurs do. However, the arrows move straight forward, at the same pace as the axe waves do, so there isn't much of a difference.

Name: Bazuka
Info: The Bazuka is the second ost common virus in Chaos Network. It is very similar to the Canodumb virus. As soon as it spots a navi, it aims and shoots a cannonball at them.

Part V: New Information


I'm sure a lot of you have been wondering "When the hell is demo 5 coming!?"...Well if things go like I believe they will, expect something by Chaos Network's anniversary (Feb 28th). It may not be demo 5, but it will definitely be a demo, and there WILL be some MMO gameplay.

I will be posting another update very soon with information about the story, more screenshots, more artwork and we will have a BladeMan.EXE design contest soon! All of the info in this update will be added to the website and wiki.


Part VI: New Screenshots

And last but not least, finally some brand new screenshots for you guys to drool over! ;)

Let's see...  Menu, battle, overworld...  That's basically the entire engine, done!

Now all that's left is bulking it out with areas/chips/items/characters/storyline, to turn it from 'playable' to 'fun'.  Yay ^_^

Did you guys realize the Mettox's sprite doesn't have a shadow at the moment? My brother noticed it, and I wanted to let you know just in case (or was it done on purpose?).


This makes me half-tempted to want to help. It already made me sprite (or rather, work on spriting) my navi.

Which is why your submitted Navi and Op are completely un-edited versions of WindSoul and Burnerman's Op?

Menu sprites are place-holders, as the finalised design hasn't been decided yet.  A couple of the areas have distortion in contrast, which happens when the wrong number of colours are saved - a common issue with transferring images via free hosts

Which is why OYGIDSB, the best spriter here, only uses MS Paint?  Stop making poor excuses
