No Western Release For Operate Shooting Star
« on: January 18, 2010, 02:43:39 AM »
In a thread over at Capcom-Unity, Christian Svensson, Capcom's Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development, stepped in to field a fan's inquiry regarding a potential Western release of Rockman EXE Operate Shooting Star. His response:

"For the moment, no plans for a Western release."

And just like that, an English release of OSS is swiftly denied. While it's by no means a dead end (plans do change here and there), it's still unfortunate.

So, what can you, the Mega Man fan, do about this? Well, there's always Capcom's new suggestion box, wherein you could kindly request OSS to be released and translated outside of Japan, or you could wait patiently for an inevitable fan-translation patch to surface, which I'm sure isn't too far off...

Many thanks to Jimb0 for the heads up!

Please.  The problem with Ion Cannons is that they lose energy too quickly when firing in atmosphere - that's why they're orbital.  They can shoot stuff in space, but anything below low-orbit is immune.

Use it to knock another satellite out of orbit, to crash into them.

YOU CANNOT DEPRIVE US FROM A MEGAMAN GAME.

C'mon Capcom (of America), quit making the small mistakes that make a big difference.  I mean, you don't televise most of your advertisements for games, you did a mediocre job at voice acting MMZXA, and (well, it's actually Nintendo's fault, but Capcom should have known that doing this would be good for their company) for not asking to put Megaman in Brawl.

I think before they ever release OSS in English, they need to make MML3...

Well actually both could happen at the same time. Dash 3 would also hit Japanese stores first, so that wouldn't affect an English translation of OSS (which would be made by a 3rd party company by the way).

I figured this would happen, that is why I imported this game. As for legends 3 I eagerly wait untill the day it is released.

@Krabz

What I meant was that I think Capcom really needs to focus on areas that are lacking/have the most potential, which in my opinion involves Legends 3.
